Executive Coaching: The Inner Work
Overview:
Without “inner work”, the above elements can become only “tips and tricks”. While tips and tricks work for a time, deep and lasting change occurs best when one explores the barriers to change, and then comes up with their own solutions for working through said barriers. Executive coaching relies on the coachee as whole, able to come up with the solutions to their own challenges. The coach serves as the owner of a process that relies on asking powerful questions, inviting the coachee to develop self-awareness through noticing and reflection. This work happens over time (usually monthly sessions lasting 7-10 months) to give the coachee opportunity to implement changes in their personal and professional life. Pre and post-measures related to specific goals can be implemented to measure progress.
